Language is the material.
My work begins where communication collapses. I use words the way others use pigment — as structure, as texture, as weight.
I am interested in the system: the invisible architecture that shapes desire, behavior, identity. Repetition, erasure, fragmentation and layering are not aesthetic choices — they are strategies of survival.
Paper, tape, torn surfaces, industrial black. Materials that carry memory. Materials that suggest pressure.
My works often appear produced by the system itself. Clean. Direct. Authoritative. Yet underneath there is fracture, doubt, contradiction.
I explore themes of power, consumption, meritocracy, collective complicity, and the quiet tension between what we know and what we pretend not to see.
The sentence repeated becomes noise. Noise becomes truth. Truth becomes something we cover.
I do not illustrate.

Claudio Tomasello is an Italian conceptual artist working with text-based compositions and material surfaces. His practice investigates language as structure and the social system as an invisible force shaping individual identity. Through repetition, erasure and industrial materials, he creates works that appear minimal and direct, yet carry underlying tension and critique.
He lives and works in Italy.
